The preorder countdown is on

Only eleven days (thirteen for the UK) until Henry Tudor Must Die is out in the world!

I’m thrilled to be able to team up with three amazing U.S. bookstores to offer something a little different for all sorts of readers.

But first, let me wax poetic about preorders for a second. Actually, let me share what the 2026 Debuts—a group of traditionally published authors with books debuting this year where I’ve met so many cool folks—has to say about preorders and other ways to support first-time authors.

Purchase/pre-order the book: We know. This is the obvious one! But it truly helps so much. Pre-orders help build buzz and tell bookstores and other potential readers that hey, you should take a look at this one! Pre-orders also count towards the first week of sales numbers, which can help books make it onto bestseller lists.

Request/order the book from your local bookstore: We love our local independent bookstores! With so many books in the world and finite shelf space, booksellers need to choose what to stock. Requesting the book from your local store can encourage them to stock the book and help it reach new readers.

Request the book through your local library: Yes, getting books through libraries helps authors! Like with bookstores, they help us reach readers. Check your local library’s website to see how to submit a request. And once your library carries a book, checking it out supports us too!

Rate and review books: Posting ratings and reviews help boost authors’ visibility and garner interest. You can post these on retail sites (like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Waterstones), review sites (like Goodreads or Storygraph), or your own social media.

Share with family and friends: People are much more likely to buy and read a book if it’s recommended to them by someone they know. If you love a book, don’t be shy! Tell every person you know!

Add books to your “to read” or wishlist: Indicating your interest in books on sites like Goodreads or Storygraph boosts that book’s visibility. It can help the book get featured in “Most Anticipated” lists and it shows publishers, booksellers, and fellow readers that people are interested in the book.

And now, back to what fun you can expect when you preorder!

At Horizon Books, you can get 20% off, a signed copy, and a print of this gorgeous hellebore painting by Kristin MacKenzie Design.

At The Folded Leaf, you can get a signed copy plus this badass Anne Boleyn art by The Bus Stop Shop.

And at Artemis Books & Goods, you can get a signed copy along with a full set of the HTMD queen portraits by Kristina Gerhmann. (I know I shouldn’t have favorites, but my favorite is Catherine Parr.)

I should also mention that Bookshop.org has HTMD at a 7% discount (I do not know the meaning of that number, but I’m here for it!).

Thank you so much to everyone who is preordering, requesting from their library, or just generally screaming about HTMD from the rooftops. It makes such a difference for a debut author!
