An exciting update from Tudor England: HENRY TUDOR MUST DIE is now available for preorder wherever books are sold! And it was announced on People.com!
I couldn’t have dreamed up a more beautiful cover if I’d tried! Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group, Penguin Random House, and cover designer Lila Selle for bringing my witchy Anne Boleyn to life.
And thank you to People for the exclusive cover reveal—I literally screamed (in a bookstore, of course) when I got the news they would be the first to show this beauty to the world.
My grandmother used to get a copy of People mailed to her house every week. I remember picking it up off the coffee table whenever we visited and leafing through it with her. She would have been over the moon to see my name in those (digital) pages.
I know I was. Here’s what I told People about my book:
“Historically, we’ve always pitted these women against each other, thinking of them as tragic footnotes in the story of Henry VIII. With Henry Tudor Must Die, I wanted to imagine what could have happened if the queens put aside that toxic pressure of competition and found common ground instead,” Laine tells PEOPLE of Henry Tudor Must Die.
“Of course, there were some real executions along the way, so it helps that in my version of events, Anne Boleyn is a witch with a few gallows tricks up her sleeve,” she adds. “But beyond the magic and beheadings, for me, this story is about sisterhood, resilience and knowing who your true enemy is … and then working together to extract some sweet revenge.”
